Warrnambool City Council Cures Email Blues with Bluepoint

Warrnambool City Council use BluePoint to safeguard a critical information asset - Email

As email becomes a pivotal part of day-to-day business, an increasing amount of vital content is being stored in email systems. Email management is a key issue that needs to be resolved for a complete content management strategy. Compliance with records management standards is impossible to achieve without the support of a sound content management system that includes email capture.

Warrnambool City Council found it was responding to significant and spiralling volumes of email. Peter Newell, IT Manager, Warrnambool City Council, explains, "For some time we have used email for business communication. It is clear that the information we send and receive via email must be managed and preserved as a corporate record."

BluePoint has been in use at Warrnambool City as its enterprise content management system since 2000. Warrnambool City use BluePoint to capture and manage council critical content that is created or received via postage, facsimile, and more recently email. "The council is extremely pleased with BluePoint, it has really proven itself as a solution and is now an integral part of the way we do business," Peter states "I wouldn't hesitate to recommend BluePoint to organisations like Warrnambool. BluePoint has enabled us to automate business processes, comply with regulatory and legislative obligations, streamline communication, and improve efficiencies throughout the organisation."
